1. Safety instructions

Always place the soldering iron in the original holder when it is not being used.
Do not place any inflammable or thermally sensitive objects in the vicinity of the hot
soldering iron or soldering bit.
The soldering bit and the heating element are hot and remain so for some time after
being switched off. Ensure that you do not touch the soldering bit or the heating
element.
You must not undertake work on live parts. Anti-static materials are made from
conductive filling material. Therefore the insulating properties are reduced.
Only a recognised specialist is permitted to undertake repairs. Use original WELLER
replacement parts only.
The instructions for the use of the supply unit are valid in addition to these here.
2. Description
Due to its handy design, the Weller WMP micro soldering iron is suitable for work on
professional SMD electronics. A short distance between the handle and the soldering
tip ensures ergonomic handling of the soldering iron when performing the finest of
soldering tasks. A high-quality sensor and heat transfer technology ensure precise
temperature regulation behaviour at the soldering bit. Due to the straightforward tip
changing and the extremely fast heat up time, various types of soldering iron bits can
be used during a job.
With an integrated grounding connector, there is the possibility for a grounding of the
solder bit if required. The anti-static handle and cables mean that the soldering iron
satisfies all requirements of the EGB safety.

3. Installation
GB
Place the soldering iron in the safety holder. Remove all flammable articles from
around the soldering iron. Plug and lock the connector (4) into the supply unit. Set
the required temperature on the supply unit. Wet the soldering bit with solder once it
has heated up.
4. Grounding
If required, an grounding of the soldering bit can be created via the supply unit. The
connection possibilities for grounding are described in the instructions for the supply
unit.
5. Information for Operation
Changing soldering bits
Straight soldering bits
– hold soldering iron horizontal.
– Guide hex tool for changing the tip over the heater element
to the stop on the handle.
– Undo soldering iron tip and remove to the front.
Curved soldering bits and SMT soldering bits
Use a heat resistant silicone pad to unscrew the soldering bit and to pull it out to the
front. Hold the silicone pad in your hand in such a way that prevents direct contact
with the soldering bit from occurring.
