6 Place an adjustable wrench across the flat part
of the chain, just ahead of the chain anchor.
Tighten the wrench onto the chain.

7 Using a 1

inch wrench, adjust the nut as

required to tighten or loosen the chain. Repeat
this procedure beginning with step 4 until the
gap is between 0.25 to 0.5 inch / 6.35 to 12.7
mm.
Note: If the adjusting bolt runs out of threads
before the chain tension is correct, the chain has
stretched too far and the chain must be replaced.

8 Fully retract the boom.
9 Measure the gap between the washer and the
spacer. The gap should be between 0.125 to
0.25 inch / 3.2 mm to 6.35 mm.
