Complete the tasks listed in Before working inside your system section in this document.
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only
perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as
directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is
not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions
that came with the product.
Steps
1.
Unpack the new system board assembly.
CAUTION: Do not lift the system board by holding a memory module, processor, or other
components.
CAUTION: Take care not to damage the system identification button while placing the
system board into the chassis.
2.
Hold the touch points and lower the system board into the chassis.
3.
Push the system board toward the back of the chassis until the board is seated correctly.

1.
Install the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). For information on how to install TPM, see the Installing

2.
Replace the following:
a.
cable retention bracket
b.
PCIe card holder
c.
integrated storage controller card
d.
internal dual SD module
e.
all expansion card risers
f.
heat sink(s) or heat-sink blank(s) and processors(s)/processor blank(s)
g.
memory modules and memory module blanks
h.
network daughter card
i.
cooling-fan assembly
j.
cooling shroud
k.
PSUs
3.
Reconnect all cables to the system board.
NOTE: Ensure that the cables inside the system are routed along the chassis wall and secured
using the cable securing bracket.
4.
Complete the tasks listed in the After working inside your system section in this document.
5.
Import your new or existing iDRAC Enterprise license. For more information, see the Integrated Dell
Remote Access Controller User's Guide, at dell.com/esmmanuals.
6.
Ensure that you:
a.
Use the Easy Restore feature to restore the Service Tag. For more information, see the Easy
Restore section in this document.
b.
If the service tag is not backed up in the backup flash device, type the system Service Tag
manually. For more information, see the Entering the system Service Tag section in this
document.
c.
Update the BIOS and iDRAC versions.
