Initial operation

Switch on the device at the main switch (25). The messages "Reciva
Radio ARM powered" and "Starting... " appear on the display (8). Press the
"BACK" button (18) when the message "Initializing Network" appears.
To set the language for menu navigation

use the "SCROLL/ENTER" knob (3) to browse the displayed list until
the selection bar highlights "Settings"; press the "SCROLL/ENTER"
knob (3) to select,

browse the displayed list until the bar highlights "Language"; press
the "SCROLL/ENTER" knob (3),
‹
browse the list of available languages and select the desired
language.
NOTE
►
Browse all menus and device settings by turning the "SCROLL/
ENTER" knob (3), and press the knob to select the item highlighted
by the selection bar. For the remaining part of this manual this
will be indicated as "Select".
Press the "SCROLL/ ENTER" knob (3) to open the main menu.

Internet radio: Receive and manage internet radio stations; requires
internet access, e. g. via WLAN.
■
Media player: Plays back files from a PC network; requires access by
this device to the network.
■
FM: FM radio operation.
■
Aux-In: The IR 4430 plays back tracks from an external player.
■
iPod®: The IR 4430 plays back tracks from a connected iPod®.
■
Alarm: Device can be set as an alarm clock.
■
Settings: Basic device settings.
These functions are described in the following chapters.
■
Network settings: Search for networks or manually configure net-
work parameters; see chapter "Operation in WLAN".
■
Version: Displays the version number of the device software, the
serial number and the product code.
■
Firmware update: Download new software available for the device
from the Reciva portal. The device will alert you if new firmware
is available and will ask if you want to download. If necessary, you
may latest by now cancel the operation by pressing the "BACK" but-
ton (18).
