Alternative destination entry

As an alternative to entering an address, you have
additional options for entering a destination. Tap in the
main menu on the Destination entry button and then
select one of the following menu items.
Favourites:
Here you have the option to access your most impor-
tant destinations which you have saved (they are
saved under Main menu > Favourites) and can then
be selected directly without the need to enter the full
address.
Previous destinations:
Is the list of the destinations you selected most recently.
Home:
Tapping on this once navigates you straight home from
your current location. To do this, an address needs to
be stored the first time you use the device.
Special destinations:
There is an option to search around various fixed points
(e.g. your current location) for special points of interest
(POIs).
You can find more detailed information about the

manual which is also supplied on the Content + Navi-
Manager CD/DVD.

The navigation screen

The navigation screen displays your current posi-
tion on the map display. Any change in position is
adjusted. The calculated route is shown with a blue
background.
The navigation screen provides you with lots of infor-
mation while you are travelling.

the navigation screen.

A) Main menu button
B) Visual indication of direction –
shown on main roads and motorways (e.g. B315 head-
ing towards Göppingen)
C)+D) Status indicators – by tapping on the buttons you
have the option of displaying, for example, the time,
distance to your destination, the remaining journey
time, the estimated arrival time, height above sea
level, speed, direction, TMC frequency and number
of TMC messages. And they can be combined as
you desire.
E) Profile indicator (car, motorbike or pedestrian)
F) Compass - Indication of the direction, is only displayed
if you have selected the 2D view and have activated
the 2D aids on the settings menu.
G) GPS reception quality (Red: GPS signal is not
sufficient for determining position; Yellow: GPS
signal is sufficient for determining position; Green:
GPS signal has excellent quality and allows the
altitude to be determined; White (optional): GPS
signal is not available (e.g. in a tunnel).
H) Battery indicator
J) Map extract – the map extract can be enlarged or
decreased in size via the +/- button.
K) TMC status (optional): Grey: no reception of TMC;
Green: reception of a TMC station. However, there
are no TMC messages about any traffic hold-ups;
Yellow: TMC messages exist. However, there
is no traffic hold-up on the calculated route;
Red: TMC messages exist of which at least one
relates to the calculated route.
L) Rapid access menu
M) Lane assistant – for better orientation on complex
motorways and main roads
N) Manoeuvre box – the next turn-off direction is shown
in the form of an arrow, as well as other roads leading
off at junctions and the distance until your next
manoeuvre
O) Maximum speed warner
