2. Advance the cursor to PR, then press Enter. The cursor moves to the lower line and begins blinking. Use
the or keys until the desired Processor (Processor 1 or Processor 2) is displayed, then press Enter.
The cursor returns to the top line of the display.
3. Advance the cursor to VCT, then press Enter. The cursor moves to the lower line and begins blinking. Use
the or keys to set the Virtual Channel Table to 802, then press Enter. The cursor returns to the top
line of the display.
4. To view the assigned channel numbers, advance the cursor to CHNL, then press Enter. The cursor moves
to the lower line and begins blinking. Use the or keys to display the Virtual Channel numbers (206,
207). When finished, press Enter to return the cursor to the top line of the display.
5. Press to move the cursor to the menu home position, then press Enter. The Main Menu displays.
Verify Channel Settings
1.
With the Main Menu displayed, use the key to advance the cursor to Status, then press Enter.
2. Use the up and down keys to scroll through the Status options until the Status2 menu appears.
3. The Source field displays the name of the Discovery Network
to which the DSR-6402 is tuned; the corresponding virtual
channel is displayed in the Channel field; and an integer (1 -
100) is displayed in the Quality field as a relative indicator of
signal quality.
4. Use the key to move the cursor to the menu home position, then press Enter. The Main Menu displays.
Call for Authorization
1. Before contacting the project desk for authorization, be sure you have the unique 16-digit Unit Address for
each DSR unit to be authorized. To display the Unit Address perform the following:
a. On the Main Menu, press to advance the cursor to Diag, then press Enter. The Diag Menu appears.
b. With the Diag Menu displayed, press one time. The Unit
Address displays.
c. Copy the 16-digit Unit Address, then press to move the
cursor to the menu home position, then press Enter to
return to the Main Menu.
2. Contact the Discovery project desk at (800) 308-6272 for
authorization of the DSR-6402. The project desk is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m, Eastern Time.
3. When the Authorize signal is received, the front panel Authorized LED lights green.
4. With the Main Menu displayed, use the key to advance the cursor to Status, then press Enter.
5. Use the up and down keys to scroll through the Status options until the Status5 menu appears.
6. Observe that the Authorize State field displays Subscrbd With Tape, indicating successful decryption of

Channel numbers for the DSR-6402 are configured and assigned by the
Authorization Center at the uplink. You can view the channel numbers in
the Channel Menu as described above.
