    Important Note for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: From Massachusetts Rules and Regulations 248 CMR 5.08: For all side wall horizontally vented gas fuelled equipment installed in every dwelling, building or structure used in whole or in part for residential purposes, including those owned or operated by the Commonwealth and where the side wall exhaust vent termination is less than seven (7) feet above fi nished grade in the area of the venting, including but not limited to decks and porches, the following requirements shall be satisfi ed.

    This Fireplace Is Intended For Outdoor Use Only! - The fi replace must be located inside of a weatherproof enclosure. - Flashing must be installed around the fi replace opening in accordance with local building codes in order to prevent moisture from entering the enclosure. - A drip pan (not supplied with the unit) must be installed under the fi replace and be provided with a means of draining.

    Installation Requirements The Town & Country Fireplace installation and venting must conform to the current CAN/CGA-B149 installation code (in Canada) or the current National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1 (in the USA), and approved per local codes. Only qualifi ed (licensed or trained) personnel should install this product.

    Standoffs The standoffs are shipped loose Fig. #10 inside the fi replace and must be TOP STANDOFFS installed on the top and the side of the fi replace as shown in Fig. #10. Do this once the fi replace is on site and in position.

    Adjustable Lintel The adjustable lintel assembly has two Fig. #20 orientations for desired fi nishing. A fl anged edge and a hemmed edge. The lintel comes factory installed with the fl ange edge out. If the desired edge is different from the factory setting, use the following steps to change it(Fig.#20).

    Venting Before installing venting for this unit, the installer should read these instructions to insure that the proper vent confi guration has been selected. Use only Town and Country Termination kits #: TCVT.RTA - Roof Termination Kit Vent system components approved for use with the Town and Country Fireplace are shown in Fig.
