Installation must only be undertaken by a competent person, familiar with unvented electric water heaters. The Zip Varipoint II must be installed in accordance with these instructions and all current legislation, codes of practice and regulations governing the installation of unvented hot water cylinders in force at the time of installation . -

VP153 Description These instructions should guide you through the installation, maintenance and use of the Zip Varipoint II, however, if you require any further information please call Zip customer service on 0845 6 005 005. • The Zip Varipoint II is an unvented water heater designed for connection directly to incoming mains water supply and can serve one or more outlets using conventional taps. -

• The appliance, its wiring and piping must not be modified in any way. • In case of malfunction isolate the power supply immediately. In case of leaks also isolate the water supply. Repairs must only be carried out by Zip Heaters (UK) Ltd or an authorised Zip service engineer. -

The electrical installation including earthing and cross bonding should comply with the current IEE regulations and any local authority requirements. The Zip Varipoint II is designed for connection direct to the incoming mains water supply and accommodation must be made for the expanded water that will occur with each heating cycle. -

Positioning The Zip Varipoint II must be installed vertically. The connections should be at the rear of the unit. When facing the heater the hot supply (red) is to the left and the cold supply (blue) is to the right. -
Page 11: Plumbing And Safety Control Arrangement
The unit will be supported by being hung on a bracket fixed to a support wall, as shown (fig.1). Therefore it is important to ensure that the wall is strong and solid enough to fully support the unit when the tank is full. It is important to ensure when drilling the wall, that the selected position avoids any pipe work or electrical cabling. -

230v AC SUPPLY ONLY, THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. The Zip Varipoint is pre-wired with a length of 3 core cable suitable for connection to a mains 230v supply. Connection must be made in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations to a double pole isolating switch on a dedicated circuit or a double pole switched spur. -

Commissioning & Operation. Check that all ‘Installation Requirements’ have been met. Check that all water and electrical connections are correct and tight. Open a hot water tap. Open the water mains isolating valve and allow the heater to fill. Close the hot water tap when water starts to flow from it.(The heater vessel should now be full). -
