IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This manual has safety information and instructions to help
you eliminate or reduce the risk of accidents and injuries .

Recognize Safety Information

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to
alert you to potential physical injury hazards. Obey
all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid
possible injury or death.

Understand Signal Words

A signal word will identify safety messages and in-
structions. It also indicates the degree or level of
hazard.
WARNING! indicates a hazardous situation that
if NOT avoided could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION! indicates a hazardous situation that
if NOT avoided could result in minor or moderate in-
jury.
NOTICE: is used to address practices NOT related
to physical injury.

WARNING! Failure to obey the following instruc-
tions could result in death or serious injury due to
electrical shock, fire, or explosion.
This appliance MUST be installed and serviced by a
qualified service technician.
Read and understand these instructions before install-
ing, using, servicing, or performing maintenance on
this appliance.
The safety precautions provided in this manual cannot
cover all possible conditions that may occur. Com-
mon sense and caution MUST be exercised when
installing, maintaining, and operating this appliance.
The installation MUST comply with all applicable local
and national codes including the latest editions of the
following standards:

Electric and Installation Precautions

WARNING! Failure to obey the following in-
structions could result in death or serious injury due
to electrical shock, fire, or explosion.
● This appliance weighs 165 lbs (75 kg). Do NOT at-
tempt to move or reposition this appliance unless
you are fully capable of doing so without injury.
● The appliance should NOT be installed in any
room with above-average humidity. It MUST NOT
be stored in any room with explosive or caustic
gases.
● Ensure that the water and electrical hookup(s)
is/are connected by a qualified technician in ac-
cordance with the manufacturer's instructions
(refer to the "Installation Instructions" on pages
6-9) and local safety regulations.
● Do NOT modify the power cord provided with the
appliance for any reason. Have a proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician.
● Route and secure the power cord to protect it from
damage. Do NOT use extension cords.
● This is a 120V/60Hz appliance. Make sure the
cord is connected to a 120V/60Hz power source.
● Ensure this appliance is only used on a dedi-
cated 120V electrical circuit that has 15 amps of
overcurrent protection. Use time-delay fuses with
this appliance when it is connected to a circuit
protected by fuses.
● This appliance MUST be grounded. In the event
of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding will
reduce the risk of electrical shock by providing a
path of least resistance for the electric current.
This appliance is equipped with a cord that has an
equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding
plug. The plug MUST be plugged into an appropri-
ate outlet that is properly installed and grounded
in accordance with all local and national codes
and ordinances.
● This appliance is for indoor use only.
● Packing materials may cause suffocation. Keep
all packing materials away from children.
NOTICE: Risk of corrosion or freeze damage.
● Do NOT install or store this appliance where it will
be exposed to temperatures below 32°F (0°C) or
moisture.
