- Page 6 Building a serial DMX chain You can connect multiple units in a DMX chain. Connect the DMX output of the first unit in the chain to the DMX input of the next unit. Always connect one output with the input of the next unit until all units are connected. Then set the starting address for all units using the above dip switch table.
