1. Adjustment must b e m a d e on an engine with
oil temperature of approx. 80 C. T h e 5
mark o n pulley must align with notch on fan
housing a t specified engine speed.
T h e vacuum hose of USA version models c a n
remain attached.

T o measure engine speed, use a tester with an
inductive speed recorder (clips).

2. After adjustment of ignition timing, check
ignition timing advance.
Europe:
USA:
(vacuum hose detached)
If these control values a r e not reached, remove
distributor and inspect in a test bench.
N o t e
An inspection or adjustment of t h e dwell angle
is not possible and also not necessary on t h e
breakerless ignition system installed as from
1918 models.
