IDD Meter Adjustment
Choose one of the adjustment methods described
below, according to the equipment you have avail-
able. If you perform adjustment method (2) Using
a DC Ammeter, complete the transmit adjustments
on ALIGNMENT page 11 through 17.
1) Using an Electronic Load
Remove the jumper that is connected between
J5008 and J5009 on the PA-Unit, then connect
the Electronic Load to J5008 and GND.
Set the VFO-A frequency to 14.200 MHz in the
CW mode.
Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter "24-01 IDD MTR".
Press the PTT button, then adjust the Electronic
Load to "10 A".
Press the [ENT] key, then release the PTT but-
ton.
Press and hold in the [MENU] button for one
second to save the new setting and exit the
alignment mode.

2) Using a DC Ammeter
Connect the 50-Ohm Dummy Load and Watt-
meter to the "ANT 1" jack.
Remove the jumper that is connected between
J5008 and J5009 on the PA-Unit, then connect
the DC ammeter (20-A range) between J5008
and J5009.
Set the VFO-A frequency to 14.200 MHz in the
CW mode.
Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter "24-01 IDD-MTR".
Press the [MOX] button, then rotate the [PROC/
CAR] knob so that the DC ammeter reading is
"10 amperes".
Press the [ENT] key, then release the [MOX]
button.
Press and hold in the [MENU] button for one
second to save the new setting and exit the
alignment mode.
