COMMON DISHWASHING PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

Dishwasher Does Not Start
1) Fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped.
-Solution: Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
Remove any other appliances sharing the same
circuit with the dishwasher.
2)Power supply is not turned on.
-Solution: Turn the dishwasher on and securely
close the dishwasher door. Check power cord to
ensure it is properly plugged into the wall socket.
3) Water pressure is low.
-Solution: Check if the water supply is connected
properly and the water is turned on.
4) Dishwasher door is not properly closed:
- Solution: Close the door properly and latch it.
Water In Tub
1) Kink in drain hose.
-Solution: Check drain hose is not kinked.
2) Fliter clogged.
-Solution: Check the coarse filter. If clogged,
clean fliter.
3) Kitchen sink clogged.
-Solution: Check the drain in your kitchen sink
and ensure it is draining properly. If not, contact
a plumber.

GENERAL PROBLEMS

Suds In Tub
1) Incorrect detergent used
-Solution: Ensure the correct dishwasher detergent
is used. If the wrong detergent has been used, open
the dishwasher and let the suds evaporate. Once the
suds have evaporated, add 1 gallon of cold water to
the dishwasher tub. Close and latch the dishwasher
then select any cycle. The remaining water will be
drained out during the wash cycle. Open the door
after the water has drained and check if there are any
suds.
Repeat as necessary.
Stained Tub Interior
1) Detergent used has colorant
-Solution: Do not use detergent with colorant.
White Film on Inside Surface
1) Hard water minerals
-Solution: Clean the interior with a damp sponge and
dishwasher detergent. Use rubber gloves when
cleaning.
Rust Stains on Cutlery
1) The cutlery used is not rust proof.
-Solution: Do not place articles that are not
rust proof in the dishwasher.
2) A wash cycle program was not run after the salt/
water softener was added or traces of salt may have
been released into the wash cycle.
-Solution: When adding salt/water softener
to the dishwasher, run a quick wash cycle program
while the dishwasher is empty (without any dishes,
cutlery, pots, pans or glasses).
3) The lid on the salt/water softener dispenser is
loose.
-Solution: Check and ensure the lid is
tightly closed.
UNSATISFACTORY WASH RESULT
Dishes are not Clean
1) The dishes were not loaded correctly.
-Solution: Refer to section on user manual
on proper dishwasher loading.
2) The incorrect wash program has been used.
-Solution: Refer to the Wash Cycle Program table
and ensure the correct wash program has been
selected.
3) Not enough detergent was dispensed.
-Solution: Use more detergent or change your
detergent.
4) Items in dishwasher are blocking the path of spray arms
-Solution: Rearrange the items so that the spray
arm can rotate freely and without obstruction.
5) The filter combination on the base of the wash cabinet
is not clean or not correctly fitted. This may cause the spray
arm jets to get blocked.
-Solution: 1)Clean and/or place the filter
combination correctly. 2) Clean the spray arm
jets.
Etched Film on Glassware
1) Too much detergent used on soft or softened water.
-Solution: Decrease the amount of detergent
used and select shorter wash cycle program.
Gray or Black marks appear on dishes
1) Aluminum utensils have rubbed against dishes
-Solution: Use a mild abrasive cleaner to
eliminate marks.
Detergent Left in Dispenser
1) Detergent may be too old.
-Solution: Discard old detergent and use fresh
detergent.
2) Dishes may not be loaded properly and blocking
detergent dispenser cup
-Solution: Load dishes properly and ensure
items do not protrude from front of bottom
rack preventing detergent cup from opening.
