FM
Off (default):
Turns the seek tuning setting off.
Level1:
Sets the level of sensitivity for FM to level
1.
Level2:
Sets the level of sensitivity for FM to level
2.
Level3:
Sets the level of sensitivity for FM to level
3.
Level4:
Sets the level of sensitivity for FM to level
4.
AM
Off (default):
Turns the seek tuning setting off.
Level1:
Sets the level of sensitivity for AM to level
1.
Level2:
Sets the level of sensitivity for AM to level
2.
p The FM "Level4" (AM "Level2") setting
allows reception of only stations with the
strongest signals, while lower settings
allow reception of those with weaker
signals.
Searching for an RDS station
using PTY information
You can search for general types of broad-
casting programs.
p This function can only be used on the FM
band.
1 Touch the following key.
Displays the screen to search
for general types of broadcast-
ing programs.
2 Touch the following keys to select
a program type.
Displays the previous program
type.
Displays the next program type.
There are four program types:
News&Info — Popular — Classics
— Others
3 Touch the following key.
Begins a search.
The tuner searches for a station broadcast-
ing that program type.
If you touch [Cancel], the search is
canceled.
p The programs of some stations may differ
from that indicated by the transmitted
PTY.
p If no station is broadcasting the type of
program you searched for, "Not Found"
is displayed for about two seconds and
then the tuner returns to the original
station.
Receiving traffic
announcements
TA (traffic announcement standby) lets
you receive traffic announcements auto-
matically, no matter what source you are
listening to. TA can be activated for both a
TP station (a station that broadcasts traffic
information) or another enhanced network's
TP station (a station carrying information
that cross-references TP stations).
p This function can only be used on the FM
band.
1 Press the HOME button to display
the Top menu screen.
2 Touch the following keys in the
following order.
The "System" screen appears.
3 Touch [AV Source Settings].
4 Touch [Radio Settings].
5 Touch [TA Interrupt] repeatedly
until the desired setting appears.
Off (default):
Does not receive traffic announcements
automatically.
On:
Receives traffic announcements
automatically.
6 Tune into a TP station or another
enhanced network's TP station.
7 Use the VOL (+/–) button to adjust
the TA volume when a traffic
announcement begins.
The newly set volume is stored in mem-
ory and recalled for subsequent traffic
announcements.
p You can cancel the news program by
changing the source.
p The system switches back to the original
source following traffic announcement
reception.
p Only TP stations and other enhanced
networks' TP stations are tuned in during
seek tuning or BSM when the TA function
is on.
Using news program
interruption
When a news program is broadcast from
a PTY code news station, this product can
switch from any station to the news broad-
cast station. When the news program ends,
reception of the previous program resumes.
p This function can only be used on the FM
band.
1 Press the HOME button to display
the Top menu screen.
2 Touch the following keys in the
following order.
The "System" screen appears.
3 Touch [AV Source Settings].
4 Touch [Radio Settings].
5 Touch [News Interrupt] repeatedly
until the desired setting appears.
Off (default):
Deactivates the news program interrup-
tion function.
On:
Activates the news program interruption
function.
p You can cancel the news program by
changing the source.
Tuning into alternative
frequencies
If you are listening to a broadcast and the
reception becomes weak or there are other
problems, this product will automatically
search for a different station in the same net-
work that is broadcasting a stronger signal.
p This function can only be used on the FM
band.
1 Press the HOME button to display
the Top menu screen.
2 Touch the following keys in the
following order.
The "System" screen appears.
3 Touch [AV Source Settings].
4 Touch [Radio Settings].
5 Touch [Alternative FREQ] repeat-
edly until the desired setting
appears.
