Cause/solution
L The handset or base unit's ringer volume is
turned off. Adjust it (page 15, 26).
L The Talking Caller ID feature is turned off. Turn it
on (page 26).
L The ring count for the answering system is set to
"2" or "Toll saver". Select a different setting
(page 32).
L If the base unit and handset are having an
intercom call, your handset does not announce
caller information.
Cause/solution
L A touch tone phone is required for remote
operation.
L Enter the remote code correctly (page 32).
L The answering system is off. Turn it on (page
31).
L The answering system is off. Turn it on (page 29,
31).
L The message memory is full. Erase
unnecessary messages (page 29, 30).
L If you subscribe to the Voice Mail service,
messages are recorded by your service
provider/telephone company not your telephone
(page 32).
L Someone is operating the answering system.
L If someone is talking on a conference call, you
cannot operate the answering system. Try again
