Common Settings

Enables you to specify the settings that are common to the Copy, Mail Box, Send, and Fax functions.

Function Display Settings (see p. 25)
Enables you to specify the screen that is displayed when you turn ON the main power. It is
convenient to set the screen that you most frequently use as the initial function.
Auto Clear Setting
Enables you to set whether the screen specified as the Initial Function is displayed after Auto Clear
initiates.
Audible Tones
Enables you to set whether to sound audible tones.
Display Remaining Paper Message
Enables you to set to display the message indicating that the remaining paper loaded in a paper

drawer is low.
Text/photo priority when ACS is set to Black
Enables you to set whether priority is given to text or photographic images when the Automatic
Color Selection mode detects that the original is in black-and-white.
Display the Black Mode Shortcut Key
Enables you to set to display a shortcut key next to the color selection drop-down list displayed on
the Copy Basic Features screen, the Scan screen of the Mail Box function, and the Print screen,
which enables you to select the Black color mode with one press.
Inch Entry (see p. 27)
Enables you to ensure that the key for entering values in inches is displayed on the various numeric
entry screens.

Drawer Eligibility For APS/ADS
Enables you to set which paper sources can be used for Automatic Paper Selection and Auto
Drawer Switching. This setting can be made independently for all the different functions of the
machine, and is especially useful when you want to use different paper sources for different
purposes.
Envelope Cassette
Enables you to use Paper Drawer 1 as an envelope cassette.
Register Paper Type (see p. 26)
Enables you to specify the paper type loaded in each paper source.
