Software History

dCS products make extensive use of software configurable chips – FPGAs and DSPs. This gives us
the ability to update our products to add extra features, update digital interface standards or make
performance improvements by loading new software. Occasionally, a hardware update may be
necessary also to increase the "capacity" of the electronics, add extra connectors or extra front panel
controls.
Please note that not all software updates make an earth-shattering change. You should have a clear
idea of what you expect to gain before updating to the latest issue. We recommend that you keep your
software up to date. Check the dCS web-site for the latest software updates.
This manual is for Scarlatti Upsampler software version 1.1x.
Issue 1.00 - The first issue, with 1394/USB code 4.00.
Issue 1.01 – Corrects a tendency to remain muted when receiving 96k on the USB input.
88.2k > 192k filter improved.
1394/USB issue updated to 4.01.
Issue 1.02 – 96k USB bug fixed.
Issue 1.10 – Filter choices are now available for 10 conversions, including asymmetrical filters for all
conversions from 44.1kS/s.
USB code updated to improve compatibility with Windows Vista/7 WASAPI mode and
Spotify. This updates the 1394 code version to v4.05.
Clone Lock mode added.
LEDs Off feature added.
Adds support for the Output rate IR command from the Premium Remote handset.
Word Clock Output frequency corrected to 88.2 / 96kHz when output rate is 176.4 /
192kS/s.
Issue 1.11 – Corrects intermittent glitching when converting 32/48/96kS/s data to DSD while locked to
a 44.1 or 88.2kHz word clock.
