Delius will accept digital data at 44.1kS/s from your CD player and interpolate the 16 bits, giving your CD collection a new lease of life. Delius will also convert 24 bit 96kS/s data from DVD players, revealing the increased depth and spaciousness inherent in the more complex source information.
In 1897, he and German artist Jekla Rosen settled in the quiet village of Grez- sur-Loing, near the forest of Fontainbleau, in France. They married seven years later. Delius’ music was brought to the British public by the conductor Sir Thomas Beecham.

Filter 4 expense of reduced bandwidth. is really intended for metering applications, not for listening. Delius remembers the last filter selection made for every sample rate. So, if you Filter 4 Filter 6 choose for 96kS/s and for 192kS/s, these separate settings will be stored and loaded when the incoming sample rate changes (usually when selecting a different input or changing the Upsampler settings).
There are some restrictions on master mode operation. The source (usually a CD transport or player) must run at 44.1kS/s ONLY. Delius may be used in this mode with an Upsampler, but the Upsampler output must be set to 44.1kS/s, 88.2kS/s, 176.4kS/s or DSD.

Dual AES – Dual AES Mode The Dual AES interface was developed by dCS to allow 88.2 or 96kS/s data streams to be recorded on equipment designed for 44.1 or 48kS/s operation. It allows a stereo pair of 24/96 data to be recorded on a 4-track digital recorder.

Please follow the latest update instructions supplied with the CD. The following is for guidance only. You will need a standard CD Transport, a CD player or a dCS Verdi to play the CD. A few CD players are not suitable because they upsample to 48kS/s or change some of the data bits in other ways (one example is the ML37).

Balanced Analogue Outputs If your pre or power amplifier has balanced inputs, connect Delius’ Balanced Analogue Outputs to them. For best results, connection of these outputs to unbalanced inputs is not recommended – use the Unbalanced Analogue Outputs instead.
Dual AES allows a 192, 176.4, 96 or 88.2 kS/s 24 bit signal to be encoded as two standard 96, 88.2, 48 or 44.1 kS/s 24 bit AES data streams respectively. Delius Dual decodes the dual data stream and converts it to wide band analogue. See on page for more information.
Input accepts a Wordclock at sample rates up to 96kS/s. It Wordclock allows Delius and your source equipment (e.g. CD or DVD player) to be synchronised to a master clock. This arrangement helps reduce jitter, which can degrade the audio output. See the menu page on page for details.

The sample clock quality significantly determines the output performance of the converter. The highest quality clocks that are available are crystals, so we use these. Delius uses two on-board voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO’s) as clock sources - one for the 44.1kS/s related outputs and one for the 48kS/s related outputs.
