Safe Handling of Gasoline
To avoid personal injury or property damage use extreme care

Allow engine to cool at least two minutes before
refueling.

Replace gasoline cap and tighten securely.

lf possible, remove gas-powered equipment from
t h e t r u c k o r t r a i l e r a n d r e f u e l i t o n t h e g r o u n d . l f t h i s
is not possible, then refuel such equipment on a
trailer with a portable container, rather than from a
g a s o l i n e d i s p e n s e r n o z z l e .
m. Keeo the nozzle in contact with the rim of the fuel
t a n k o r c o n t a i n e r o p e n i n g a t a l l t i m e s u n t i l f u e l i n g i s
complete. Do not use a nozzle lock-open device.

Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts, in the auger/
impeller housing or chute assembly. Contact with the
rotating parts can amputate hands and feet.
The auger/impeller control lever is a safety device. Never
bypass its operation. Doing so makes the machine unsafe
a n d m a y c a u s e p e r s o n a l i n j u r y .
The control levers must operate easily in both directions
and automatically return to the disengaged position when
released.
Never operate with a missing or damaged chute assembly.
Keep all safety devices in place and working.

Exercise extreme caution when operating on or crossing
gravel surfaces. Stay alert for hidden hazards or traffic.

operating on slopes.
Plan your snow-throwing pattern to avoid discharge
t o w a r d s w i n d o w s , w a l l s , c a r s e t c . T h u s , a v o i d i n g p o s s i b l e
p r o p e r t y d a m a g e o r p e r s o n a l i n j u r y c a u s e d b y a r i c o c h e t .
Never direct discharge at children, bystanders and pets or
a l l o w a n y o n e i n f r o n t o f t h e m a c h i n e .
Do not overload machine capacity by attempting to clear
snow at too fast of a rate.

Always be sure of your footing and keep a firm hold on the

Never operate machine at high transport speeds on
slippery surfaces. Look down and behind and use care
w h e n b a c k i n g u p .

Disengage all control levers and stop engine before you
leave the operating position (behind the handles). Wait
until the auger/impeller comes to a complete stop before
u n c l o g g i n g t h e c h u t e a s s e m b l y , m a k i n g a n y a d j u s t m e n t s ,
o r i n s p e c t i o n s .
N e v e r p u t y o u r h a n d i n t h e d i s c h a r g e o r c o l l e c t o r
o p e n i n g s . A l w a y s u s e t h e c l e a n - o u t t o o l p r o v i d e d t o
u n c l o g t h e d i s c h a r g e o p e n i n g . D o n o t u n c l o g c h u t e
a s s e m b l y w h i l e e n g i n _ e i s r u n n i n g . S h u t o f f e n g i n e a n d
r e m a i n b e h i n d h a n d l e s u n t i l a l l m o v i n g p a r t s h a v e s t o p p e d
before unclogging.
Use only attachments and accessories approved by the
manufacturer (e.9. wheel weights, tire chains, cabs etc.).
When starting engine, pull cord slowly until resistance
is felt, then pull rapidly. Rapid retraction of starter cord
( k i c k b a c k ) w i l l p u l l h a n d a n d a r m t o w a r d e n g i n e f a s t e r t h a n
you can let go. Broken bones, fractures, bruises or sprains
could result.
