Starting the Ingine
WARNING! Always keep hands and feet clear of

NOTE: Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes after
s t a r t i n g . T h e e n g i n e w i l l n o t d e v e l o p f u l l p o w e r u n t i l i t r e a c h e s
operatrng temperatures.
Electric Starter

proceed as follows. lf you do not have the proper house

P l u g t h e e x t e n s i o n c o r d i n t o t h e e l e c t r i c o u t l e t l o c a t e d

Push primer three to five (3-5) times, making sure to cover
v e n t h o l e w h e n p u s h i n g . l f e n g i n e i s w a r m , p u s h p r r m e r
o n l y o n c e . A l w a y s c o v e r v e n t h o l e w h e n p u s h i n g . C o o l
weather may require priming to be repeated.
P u s h s t a r t e r b u t t o n t o s t a r t e n g i n e . O n c e t h e e n g i n e
starts, immediately release starter button. Electric starter
is equipped with thermal overload protection; system will
t e m o o r a r i l v s h u t - d o w n t o a l l o w s t a r t e r t o c o o l i f e l e c t r i c
starter becomes overloaded.
As the engine warms, slowly rotate the choke control to
O F F p o s i t i o n . l f t h e e n g i n e f a l t e r s , r e s t a r t e n g i n e a n d r u n
with choke at half-choke position for a short period of time,
a n d t h e n s l o w l y r o t a t e t h e c h o k e i n t o O F F p o s i t i o n .
A f t e r e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g , d i s c o n n e c t p o w e r c o r d f r o m
e l e c t r i c s t a r t e r . W h e n d i s c o n n e c t i n g , a l w a y s u n p l u g t h e
e n d a t t h e w a l l o u t l e t b e f o r e u n p l u g g i n g t h e o p p o s i t e e n d
f r o m t h e e n g i n e .
