G. Fuel
WARNING:
putting fuel into the fuel tanks and not into any other tanks. There are
multiple fill ports on the boat deck.....Two for fuel, two for holding tanks and
one for potable water. The deck plates are clearly marked, but exercise
caution. Also, be sure you are filling with Diesel, not GAS! Avoid spills; don't
trust the fuel gauges entirely and do not attempt to operate the vessel with
less than ¼ tank per side.
A fuel manifold is located in the engine compartment and allows fuel to be
drawn from either tank to feed either engine or both engines. This is useful in
the unlikely event that the fuel in one of the tanks is contaminated and this
tank must be isolated. In normal operation all valve handles should be in the
"DOWN" position.

Auxiliary Power Unit (Gen-Set)

Operation
1. The Onan diesel gen-set (Auxiliary Power Unit) is located in the aft lazarette.
2. Make sure all AC loads are off at breaker panel before starting the APU.
3. Check to ensure sea cock to APU is open and water is present in the sea
water strainer, located just aft of the APU.
4. Once the APU is running, immediately check for cooling water flow off the
starboard side. If water is not flowing, shut the APU down and prime the
cooling system by adding water to the sea strainer.
5. AC power will switch to generator power automatically when the generator is
running, even if already connected to shore power.
6. To shutdown the APU, turn off the Master AC breaker switches; allow the
APU to run unloaded for a few minutes and depress the "stop" button on the
APU control panel. The vessel will automatically return to shore power if
connected.
7. The APU draws fuel from the Starboard tank.

The skipper must supervise all fuel filling. Be sure you are
