A 35-pound Danforth anchor is located on the bow roller with 100 feet of 5/16"
chain and 170 feet of ½" nylon rode. The chain is marked in 10 foot
increments. The anchor locker is located behind the hinged mirror at the
head of the forward stateroom.
B. Windlass
The electric windlass is used to raise and lower the anchor. This windlass will
exert a maximum force of 1000 pounds and draw 50 amps of DC power
during operation.
engines must be running when lowering or raising the anchor. Extreme
care must be exercised to avoid a serous accident while using the
windlass.

A 10 foot Caribe inflatable dinghy is attached to the rear swim platform using a
davit system. Prior to lowering the dinghy, connect the battery to the 15 HP
Honda outboard engine. Set the battery on the swim platform and raise the
Honda motor with the trim tab switch so it will clear the dinghy when the dinghy is
lowered into the water using the davit system.
Lower the dinghy using the davit system. The dinghy will still be attached to the
vessel with the snaps. Load the gas tank and battery, then release the snaps
before boarding the dinghy.
Repeat the above process in reverse when raising the dinghy back onto the
davits.
Make sure the dinghy is fully inflated before use. A foot pump is stored in the
lazarette.
The Honda outboard has a transition shifter: Forware/Neutral/Reverse. Place
the shifter in neutral prior to starting the motor.
Be careful – the 15 HP motor is powerful and should not be used at full throttle.
Drive carefully and always wear life jackets!
