9.2 Set a Reference Altitude
Setting a reference altitude is key to ensuring accurate
readings. Changes in air pressure skew altimeter read-
ings. Remedy this by setting a new, known reference

altitude. Whenever you set a reference altitude,
use a trusted source such as a topographical map,
trail head marker or summit sign for a benchmark.

Access the Altimeter Mode Display.
• Hold M for 3 seconds to enter Altimeter set menu
• Press ▼ to scroll to Ref. Alt.

• Press M to select Ref. Alt.
* Press ▲ or ▼ to adjust the reference altitude

9.3 Use the Altitude Difference Calculator
This feature allows you to measure the difference
in altitude from your current location to any other
point along your trek.
Access the Altimeter Mode Display.
• Hold M for 3 seconds to enter Altimeter set menu
• Press M to select Alt. Dif.
* Press ▲ to clear the Altitude Difference
calculator
The altitude difference calculator now uses your
current altitude as a benchmark to measure altitude
difference until it is reset or you:
* Press ESC to cancel and exit Alt. Dif.
