Setting up the preferences

You can customize voice recording preferences.

On the Control screen, tap the "Option" menu and then tap "Preferences...".
The Preferences screen appears.

Tap
Specify the save to destination. To select a card, insert
the card beforehand. If either the SD Card or CF Card
is selected and the selected card is not in the slot, the
destination will default to the Internal Flash memory.
Specify the compression rate in voice recording mode
using the drop-down list button. Better sound quality
(greater "kbps") reduces total recordable time.
Adjust the input gain (sensitivity of the built-in
microphone).
When unchecked, the SL-5600 will not turn on even if
you press and hold the Calendar key. To prevent the
recording function from launching by mistake, uncheck
this box. (See page 118.) (After the power is turned on
in another way, pressing and holding the Calendar key
will launch the application and start recording even if
this box is unchecked.)
