24-Hour Gear

The 24-Hour Gear enables the system to monitor water
usage and backwash cycles. In order to set the current
time, press the Red time set button, and then rotate the
gear till it reads the same time of day as your local time.
Day Wheel
The Day Wheel works in cohesion with the 24-hour gear
to monitor water usage and regeneration cycles. A simple
method of setting the Day Wheel for typical residential
applications is to set regeneration for every 6 days. In
order to do this, the tabs marked 6 and 12 should be slid
outwards while the other tabs are retracted.

OPERATING PARAMETERS

To insure proper operation of your MEGACHAR system,
it is advisable to collect the following information about
your water supply. This information is generally avail-
able from your municipal water department, and in many
cases is available from the website of your local Depart-
ment of Public Works.

Pressure

Adequate water pressure must be available from your
water supply to assure efficient regeneration. A minimum
of 25 PSI is required for this system.
pH
The MEGACHAR will hold up very well when the pH
of the feed water is between 2 and 11. Water supplies
with pH over 11 are very rarely, if ever, found. (Chlorine
bleach has a pH of ~11.5.)
