Die Umrechnung von Byte zu KByte, MByte und GByte erfolgt von Computern
und Festplattenherstellern unterschiedlich. Die Festplattenhersteller rechnen im
metrischen Zahlensystem (1 KByte = 10³ Byte = 1000 Byte) und Computer
verwenden auf Grund ihrer Bauweise das Dualsystem (1 KByte = 2
Byte). Daraus ergeben sich folgende Unterschiede bei der Darstellung der
Speicherkapazität:
