Body water/hydration levels
General health standards indicate that one should consume approximately
64 oz of water per day from food and liquids to maintain a healthy level of hydration.
Maintaining a good hydration level will help improve your overall health and general
feeling of well-being. If your hydration levels are lower than average, you should
increase your water intake accordingly.
Body water/hydration level – how is it measured?
The hydration level is measured by using Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA).
The same analysis that is used to calculate your body fat is used to calculate your
hydration level. Taking into consideration a user's age and gender, a calculation is
made that determines the percentage of water.
Please note: It is not recommended to take the hydration measurements in certain
situations, such as following exercise, after drinking a glass of water, or directly prior
to, during or shortly after menstrual cycles. Hydration may not be at normal levels
during these times.
Evolution graph
Closely managing your weight involves patience and discipline. Overdoing it to hurry
results is rarely beneficial and can lead to fluctuations in weight. For lasting
results, it is best to envisage long-term management. To help you monitor the
consistency of your efforts, the Ultra-flat Design Impedance Analyser has a graph
that shows you the evolution of your weight over the course of the weighings.
On this graph, the horizontal axis is the time line. Your last 7 weighings are
represented on it in chronological order starting from the left. The vertical axis
represents the weight: it records the changes in your weight over the course of these
7 weighings and transcribes them again according to a 6-level graduation. The graph
that is obtained shows you the progressive curve of your weight. In this way, you can
adjust your effort at
Change in weight
The scale records your weight after each use. It automatically recalls this informa-
tion to calculate the change in weight between the current and the previous weigh-
ings. This difference is then instantly transcribed into kilograms on the screen and
the extent of this change appears in the form of a coloured indicator according to
the table below.
A weight loss or weight gain that is too great over a relatively short period is syn-
onymous with stress for your body. Regular and moderate loss will respect your
body more.
