Your refrigeratorhastwo controls
that let you regulatethe tempera-
ture in the freshfood and freezer
compartments.
INITIALLY,set the FRESH FOOD
controlat 5 and the FREEZER
oontrolat C.
For colderor warmertemperatures,
adjustthe desiredcompartmentcon-
trol one letter or numberat a time.
IMPORTANT
Wheninitiallysettingthe controlsor
whenadjustingthem,allow24 hours
for the temperaturesto stabilize,or
even out.
Note Turningthe freshfood control
to "OFF"turnsoff BOTH
compart-
ments-fresh food AND freezer.
How to test temperatures
Usethe milktest for the fr~h food
compartment.Place a container of
milkonthe topshelfinthe freshfood
compatiment.Check it a day later.
If the milk istoo warm or too cold,
adjustthe temperature controls.
Use the ice cream test for the
freezer compartment.Place a con-
tainer of ice cream in the center of
the freezer compartment.Check it
after a day.If it'stoo hardor too soft,
adjustthe temperaturecontrols.
Alwaysallow24 hoursfor the refrig-
erator to reach the temperature
you set.
If youturnyourhousehold
thermostatbelow60°F. at night

house may oausethe compressor
to operate less frequently,thus
allowingthe freezer compartment
to warm somewhat.To protect your
frozen food supply,leave your

period of time youare turningdown
your thermostat.This is especially
importantwhen the thermostatis
turneddownfor an extended period.
This change shouldhave no effect
on your fresh food compartment.
However, if freezing occurs,turn
the numbered controlone step
warmer,as from "S' to "4."
When you stopturningthe thermo
statdown,turn temperaturecontrols
backto their regularsettings.
