Ice & Chilled Water
Once YourIcernaker and
DispenserAre
in
Operation
Throw awaythe first few batches
of ice cubes(16 or 24 cubes).This
will flushawayany impuritiesin the
water line. Do the samethingafter
vacationsorextended periodswhen
ice isn't
used.
Discardthe firsthalf
dozen
giassfuls
of water inthe kitchen sink.This will
eliminate the slight"plastic"taste
temporarilyimpartedto the water
by the water reservoir.
Keep ice level to keep icemaker
productive.Cubes ejected into an
empty storagebin will pile up close
to the icemakerand pushthe feeler
arm up to the OFF positionprema-
turely when the bin is only partially
full.
Open the iceaccessdoor,reach
in, level the cubes by handand ice
makingwill resume.Keepingcubes
distributedevenly will allow the
icemakerto produceenough ice to
fill the binto itsmaximumcapacity.
Caution:
Under certainrare circums-
tances, ice cubes may be
discolored,usuallyappearing
with a green-bluishhue..The
causeof this unusualdiscolor-
ation isapparentlydue to a
combinationof factorssuchas
certaincharacteristicsof local
waters,householdplumbrng
andthe accumulationof copper
saltsin an inactive water supply
line whichfeeds the icemaker.
Continuedconsumptionof such
discoloredice cubes maybe
injuriousto health. If suchdis-
colorationisobserved, discard
theice 'cubesand contactyour

Caution:

When DispensingIce...
Some crushedice maybe dispensed
even though you selected CUBES.
This happensoccasionallywhen a
few cubesinadvertentlyget diverted
to the crusher.
Sometimesa moundof snow will
form on the door in the ice chute.
This conditionisnormal,and usually
occurswhen you have dispensed
crushed ice repeatedly.The snow
wiII eventually evaporate.

When DispensingWater...
The water systemprovidesapprox-
imately six successive8-ounce
glassfuls-after which,several
hoursmustbe allowedfor replen-
ishedwater reservoirsuppl y to cool.
You probablywill not drain all the
chilled water from the reservoiron
a single occasion.
The first glassof water dispensed
may be warmerthan the following
ones. This is normal.
Dispensedwater is chilled, not
iced. For colderwater,simplyadd
crushed ice or cubes before dis-
pensingwater.
