Reading the Displays
The table below shows some of the possible
icons and what they mean. Since the icons appear based on what you're doing
with the phone, you won't ever see all of these icons at the same time.

What it does
x During a call: hang up.
x In any menu or list: exit and go back to the previous operation.
x While entering text: delete the last character, or press and hold
to delete all the characters.
x When entering text: insert a space.
x When entering a number: insert a 2-second pause.
x When displaying Caller ID information: toggle Caller ID area
code display on and off.
x When in standby mode: press and hold for 2 seconds to display
the Silent Mode menu. See page 13 for details.
x When dialing: Adds/removes area code.
x During a call: mute the microphone.
x While the phone is ringing: ignore this call (mute the ringer).
x During a call: boost the volume of the earpiece (see page 13).
x Switch a normal call to the speakerphone (and back).
x In standby: start a telephone call (get a dial tone).
x During a call: switch to a waiting call.
x In text edit mode: changes upper and lower case.
x When dialing: Adds/removes long distance code and
international calling number.
x During a call: temporarily switch between tone dialing and
pulse dialing.
x In standby: open the redial list.
x During a phone number entry: insert a two-second pause.
x In standby: increase the ringer volume.
x During a call: increase the volume.
x In any menu or list: move the cursor up one line.
x In standby: decrease the ringer volume.
x During a call: decrease the volume.
