Place the nut and tighten it to prescri-
bed torque
•
Insert the pinion cover crankcase.
•
Tension the chain so that there is a correct clearance

Support the vehicle with the optional
rear stand.
•
Loosen the chain tension, by unscrew-
ing the rear adjuster screws.
•
Identify the master link; slide off the
clip.
•
Remove the plate underneath.
•
Collect the chain.
CAUTION
REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT IF THE CHAIN IS PARTICU-
LARLY WORN.

Also check the following parts and make sure that the chain, pinion and crown do not present:
- Damaged rollers.
- Loose pins.
- Dry, rusty, flattened or jammed chain links.
- Excessive wear.
- Excessively worn or damaged pinion or crown teeth.
