Connecting to an IBM 468X/469X Host

This connection is made directly from the cradle to the host interface.

NOTE Interface cables vary depending on configuration. The connectors illustrated in
only. The connectors may be different from those illustrated, but the steps to connect the cradle remain
the same.
NOTE Disconnect the power supply before changing host cables or the scanner may not recognize the new host.
Connect the modular connector of the IBM 46XX interface cable to the cable interface port on the cradle. See

Connect the other end of the IBM 46XX interface cable to the appropriate port on the host (typically Port 9).

Connect an external power supply.

Ensure all connections are secure.

Pair the scanner to the cradle by scanning the bar code on the cradle.

NOTE The only required configuration is the port address. Most other scanner parameters are typically controlled
