After replacing and repairing this board, perform the
following checks.
Tools
. HD digital video signal generator:
Tektronix TG700 or equivalent
. Analog composite waveform monitor:
Tektronix 1750A or equivalent (525/60 system)
Tektronix 1751A or equivalent (625/50 system)
. Oscilloscope
Checks
1. Set the setup menu as follows.

2. Set the [F9] (SYSTEM MENU) of the OTHERS
CHECK menu as follows. (Refer to Section 3-3-9.)

*: NTSC (525/60 system): 29.97 Hz
PAL (625/50 system): 25 Hz
3. Connect the HD digital signal generator to the
REF.INPUT 1 connector (75 Z termination switch:
ON) to input the HD tri-level sync signal.

Confirm that the STOP lamp does not blink on the
control panel.
If the STOP lamp blinks, check that the ITEM-005
setting in the setup menu is correct and that the sync
signal is correctly input to the REF.INPUT 1 connec-
tor.

4. Connect the SD OUT COMPOSITE connector with
the composite waveform monitor to check that it
outputs the normal COLOR BARS signal.
(NTSC)

(PAL)
SYSTEM FREQ : 25 Hz
5. Connect the SD OUT SYNC connector with the
composite waveform monitor to check that it outputs
the normal BLACK BURST signal.
6. Connect the HD REF.OUT 1/2 connector with the
oscilloscope to check that it outputs the normal HD tri-
level sync signal.
7. Return the settings of the setup menu and the system
setting, which were changed for the checks, to the
customer settings.
