This table lists the error messages that appear in the FAX-L250 LCD display and the
corresponding error codes that appear in activity reports, and tells what to do for each.

Error Code Cause
The receiving fax machine was

busy and the FAX-L250 is
waiting to redial.
The telephone number you
#005/018
dialled is busy.
The other party's fax machine
is not working properly.
The other party is not using a
G3 fax machine.
The telephone line type setting
on your FAX-L250 is incorrect.
The receiving fax machine did
not answer within 35 seconds.
The FAX-L250 is dialling the
–
receiving fax machine.
The toner cartridge is empty.
–
The FAX-L250 image memory
may be full because the toner
cartridge ran out of toner.
Action
–
Try sending the document again
later.
Contact the other party and have
them check their fax machine.
Contact the other party and have
them send or receive the document
using a G3 machine.
Set your FAX-L250 for your
telephone line (tone or pulse).
Contact the other party and have
them check their fax machine.
You can also try to send the
document manually. For an
overseas call, add pauses to the
registered number.
If you want to cancel the
transmission, press the
(STOP) button.
Make a copy of a document. If
the printout is light or blank,
replace the toner cartridge. The
documents received in memory
will then be printed automatically.
Replace the toner cartridge and
have the other party send the fax
again.
