DTC "45" (C1645): Wheel speed sensor circuit open (R)
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Poor contact on the rear wheel speed sensor coupler
• Faulty rear wheel speed sensor, etc.
Step 1
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2) Remove the frame covers, left and right.

3) Remove the fuse box mounting bolt. (!Page 28)
4) Check the ABS control unit coupler and rear wheel speed
sensor coupler for loose or poor contacts. If OK, then discon-
nect the ABS control unit coupler.
5) Measure the resistance between 2 (B/Y) and ground at the
ABS control unit coupler.
% Normal value: ∞ Ω (Infinity)
" 09900-25008: Multi-circuit tester set
09900-25009: Needle pointed probe set
* Tester knob indication: Resistance (Ω)
Is the resistance between 2 and ground OK?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 2.
Step 2
1) Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor coupler.
2) Measure the resistance between A (Black) and ground at
the rear wheel speed sensor coupler.
% Normal value: ∞ Ω (Infinity)
* Tester knob indication: Resistance (Ω)
Is the resistance between A and ground OK?
YES
Inspect the wire harness. (Faulty B/Y wire)
NO
Replace the rear wheel speed sensor.
Step 3
1) Measure the resistance between H (W/Y) and ground at the
ABS control unit coupler.
% Normal value: ∞ Ω (Infinity)
* Tester knob indication: Resistance (Ω)
Is the resistance between H and ground OK?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Go to step 4.
