DTC "14" (C1614): Wheel speed sensor rotor malfunction (R)
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Rear wheel speed sensor rotor distortion
• Faulty rear wheel speed sensor or wiring discontinuity, etc.
Step 1
1) Inspect the clearance between the rear wheel speed sensor
and sensor rotor using the thickness gauge.
% Wheel speed sensor – sensor rotor clearance:
" 09900-20803: Thickness gauge
09900-20806: Thickness gauge
Is the clearance OK?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Adjust the clearance.
Step 2
1) Inspect the rear wheel speed sensor rotor for damage and
check that no foreign objects are caught in the rotor open-
ings.
Is the sensor rotor OK?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Clean or replace the sensor rotor.
Step 3
1) Check that the rear wheel speed sensor is mounted steadily.
Is the sensor mounted steadily?
YES
Go to step 4.
Tighten the mounting bolts or replace the bracket
NO
if necessary.
0.3 – 1.5 mm (0.012 – 0.059 in)
