Following

vehicle

a collision.
As
vehicle speeds
increase,
stop­
ping distance
increases
progressively.
Be sure you have a safe
stopping
distance
between you and the vehicle
in
front
of
you.
5. Park the motorcycle on a firm, flat sur ­
face
where
it
will
not fall
over.
A hot
muffler can burn
you.
The
muffler
will be
hot
enough to
burn you
lor some time after
stoppIng
the
engine.
Park
the motorcycle where pedestrians or chil­
dren are not likely to
touch the
muffler.
NOTE: If the motorcycle is to be parked
on'
the side stand on
a
slight slope, the fron
l
end of the motorcycle should face
"up"
the
incline to avoid rolling forward off the
side
stand. You may leave the motorcycle in
1s
gear to help prevent it from rolling off th
side
stand.
Return to neutral before starlin
engine.
6.
Turn the ignition switch to the
"OFF"
position.
7. Turn the handlebars all the way to
the
left and lock the steering for security.
8. Remove the
keys.
9. Turn the fuel valve lever to the
"OF
position.
NOTE: If an optional anti-theft lock such
a
U-shape lock, brake disc lock and chain
i
used to avoid
theft,
be sure to remove anti
theft lock before moving the motorcycle.
