NOTE: Start the engine promptly after turn­
ing the key to the
"ON" position,
or the bat­
tery will lose power due to comsumption by
the headlight and taillight.
"P"
(PARKING) POSITION
The taillight will come on to increase visibil­
ity for temporary road side parking at night.
The key can be removed

STEERING LOCK

Turn the handlebars all the way to the
left.
Insert the steering lock key into the steering
lock,
turn it counterclockwise and push it
fur­
ther in. Turn the key clockwise (to normal
position) and pull out the
key.
The steering
is now locked.

Moving
the motorcycle while the steering is
locked can be hazardous. You could lose your
balance
and fall, or you could drop the motorcy­
cle.
Never
attempt to move the motorcycle when the
steering
is locked.
INSTRUMENT PANEL
TRIP METER

The trip meter is a resettable odometer
located in the speedometer
assembly.
It can
be used for indicating the distance traveled
on short trips or between fuel
stops.
Turning
knob

counterclockwise will return the
meter to zero
.
SPEEDOMETER

The speedometer indicates the road speed
in miles per hour and/or kilometers per hour.
