Setting the operation when the same file name exists
You can set the operation if there is a still picture of the same name already in the save destination folder (and its subfolders) when copying to
a PC.
Tips
When copying a picture file that has an associated file (→174), if there
is a file with the same name as either file in the save destination
folder, [Operation when the same file name exists] is followed for both
files. However, note that in the case of AVCHD Progressive/AVCHD/
AVCHD Lite motion pictures, they are saved using different names if
there are already files with the same names.
1
Select [Tools] → [Settings] from the
menu.
The settings window is displayed.
2
Click [Still Picture] — [Copy to PC].
3
Change the settings.
[Auto]:
Modification date, time and size of file are
compared. And if a same file is identified, then it is
judged as an identical file and thus pictures from
it are not acquired. If one of them is different from
the other, then pictures are acquired by adding a
numerical character in the brackets at the end of
the file name.
[Manual]: Perform the specified process.
[Add number to the end of the file name]:
Save with a different name.
[Skip]:
Do not save.
[Overwrite]: Overwrite and save if the file is the
same (same last update and size).
If the file is not the same, it does not overwrite and
save but instead adds a number in parentheses at
the end of the file name.
4
Click [Apply].
Click [OK] to apply the settings and close the window.
