6 TROUBLESHOOTING

When This Message Appears

A message appears when a problem occurs on the equipment. Check the items on the list below and take a
countermeasure accordingly.

When This Message Appears

Meaning
This appears when a sheet of copy
paper is jammed.
This appears when any cover of the
equipment indicated by "***" is not
securely closed.
This appears when the paper in the
drawer has run out.
This appears when the repair or
adjustment by your service technician
is needed.
This appears when the maintenance
by your service technician is needed.
Paper set on the bypass tray has run
out.
There is only a little toner remaining in
the toner cartridge.
The toner cartridge is not installed
correctly.
A toner cartridge not recommended
by TOSHIBA is being used.
The toner in the toner cartridge has
run out.
The built-in memory of the equipment
has become full.
Approx. 250 sheets of paper have
continuously exited and the
equipment stops copying or printing
to prevent the paper from overflowing
from the tray.
The paper size which cannot be used
for the function is selected.
Countermeasure
Remove any jammed paper.

Close the cover securely.
Load paper in the drawer.

Contact your service representative.
Give the service technician the error code (consisting of
letters and numbers) that appears in the upper right area of
the LCD screen.
Never attempt to repair, disassemble or modify the
equipment by yourself.
This could cause an electric shock, a fire or serious injury.
Contact your service representative when the equipment is in
an abnormal condition or any malfunction is found.
Contact your service representative.
Load paper on the bypass tray.

There is still a little toner remaining in the toner cartridge. Do
not replace the toner cartridge until "TONER EMPTY" appears
on the LCD screen.
The message may not appear because the toner
remaining in the cartridge does not lie evenly.
When the message appears, it is advisable to
purchase a new TOSHIBA-recommended cartridge to
prepare for its replacement.
Install the toner cartridge correctly.
If you are using a toner cartridge other than the one we
recommend, the equipment may not be able to detect whether
it is installed or not.

Replace the toner cartridge with a new one.
P.146 "Replacing Toner Cartridge"
Press any button on the control panel. The scanned pages are
cancelled.
Remove the paper from the receiving tray, and then press the
[START] button. Copying or printing resumes.
Press the [CLEAR/STOP] button to end the copy or print job.
"CANCEL JOB?" appears on the LCD screen. Select "YES",
and then press the [SETTING/OK] button.
Select [CLOSE] and press the [SETTING/OK] button. If you
want to print with a different paper size, press the [MENU]
button and select the appropriate paper size for the function. If
you want to cancel the print job, press the [CLEAR/STOP]
button.
