Turn on/off device lock

To turn on or turn off the device lock password or PIN, follow these steps:
Turn on Pattern lock
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. If necessary, tap the General tab.
4. Scroll down to and select Screen lock.
5. Tap Screen lock.
6. Tap Pattern.
7. Review the 'Choose your pattern' screen, and then tap Next.
8. Draw an unlock pattern, and then tap Continue.
9. Draw the pattern again, and then tap Confirm.
10. Press the Power key to activate the device lock.
Turn on PIN lock
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. If necessary, tap the General tab.
4. Scroll down to and select Screen lock.
5. Tap Screen lock.
6. Tap PIN.
7. Enter a PIN, and then tap Continue.
8. Enter the PIN again, and then tap OK.
9. Press the Power key to activate the device lock.
Turn on Password lock
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. If necessary, tap the General tab.
4. Scroll down to and select Screen lock.
5. Tap Screen lock.
6. Tap Password.
7. Enter a password, and then tap Continue.
8. Enter the password again, and then tap OK.
9. Press the Power key to activate the device lock.
Turn off device lock
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. If necessary, tap the General tab.
4. Scroll down to and select Screen lock.
5. Tap Screen lock.
6. Tap Not locked.
