12 The Alert Function

This function allows you to monitor memory channel
1 for activity once every 5 seconds, even when you
are tuned to a different frequency.
1 Enter the frequency you wish to monitor in memory
channel 1.
2 Adjust the SQL control to the threshold point.
3 Press the F key, then press the 4 key. The AL
indicator displays.
4 A beep will sound when a signal is present.
5 Press the F key and the 4 key again to turn this
function off. The AL indicator will disappear from the
display.
When using the Alert function, be aware that:
* Channel 1 CTCSS programming is ignored.

You will not hear voice communication while
scanning memory channel 1, only a beep if a signal
is present.
n
Memory channel 1 is also monitored when the dual
band and single band are displayed.
