Troubleshooting

If the subwoofer does not seem to be working correctly, the following advice may help you correct the problem.
Problem
* Wires are not securely connected.
No sound.
* The volume is turned all the way down.
* The amp or receiver's SUBWOOFER PRE-OUT signal is switched
off. (Applies only if your amp or receiver includes a pre-out on/
off switch.)
Volume is too low.
* Speaker cords are reversed.
* The phase setting is not appropriate.
* The amp or receiver's PRE-OUT level is set to the minimum.
(Applies only if your amp or receiver includes a pre-out level
adjustment.)
Noise in AM reception.
* The subwoofer is placed too close to the AM receiver.
Possible Cause
Correction
* Connect the wires securely. (Refer to "Making Connections.")
* Raise the volume to an appropriate level.
* Switch on the SUBWOOFER PRE-OUT signal at the amp or
receiver.
* Reconnect so that L, R, (+), and (–) connections are correct.
(Refer to "Making Connections.")
* Change the setting of the PHASE switch.
* Raise the PRE-OUT level at the amp or receiver.
* Move the subwoofer from the AM receiver.
