Transfer belt cleaning mechanism

• To scrape residual toner off the surface of the transfer belt unit, the transfer belt is pro-
vided with a cleaning blade.
• The cleaning blade is in pressed contact with the transfer belt at all times. That is, it
cleans the surface of the transfer belt as long as the belt turns.
• The toner scraped off by the cleaning blade is collected to the middle of the transfer belt
by the toner collecting screw.
• The collected waste toner is conveyed from the waste toner discharge port of the transfer
belt unit to the waste toner bottle by way of the toner collecting screw.
