Inoperative Printer Service Check

Before beginning this service check, remove all attached options to see if the problem
goes away. If it does, isolate the failing option by attaching each one, one at a time and
testing the printer.

AC POWER CORD INSPECTION
Is the AC Power Cord in good condition, and is it plugged
into the printer and is the other end plugged into an AC
electrical outlet?

AC POWER CHECK
Is there approximately 110VAC (or 220VAC if the printer is
the 220VAC model) at the AC electrical outlet?

AC INPUT CHECK
Remove the Rear Cover and LVPS cover to gain access to the
LVPS. Turn the power switch to the on position. Check for AC
voltage at the connector joining the power switch assembly to
the LVPS located at P/J104 on the LVPS.
Is there approximately 110V (or 220V if the printer is a
220V model) between P/J104-1 and P/J104-2?

AC OUTPUT CHECK
Check for AC voltage at P/J272.
Is there approximately 110V (or 220V if the printer is a
220V model) between P/J272-1 and P/J272-3?

LVPS 3.3V CHECK
Check for DC voltage between FG and the following jack
locations with cables plugging into each jack removed:
J271-3
J101-1
J108-3
Is there approximately 3.3V between each of the pins and
FG?

LVPS 5V CHECK
Check for DC voltage between FG and the following jack
locations with cables plugging into each jack removed:
J101-3
J108-1
Is there approximately 5V between each of the pins and
FG?
