Loosen cap A holding sensor B still.
The fluid level in the reservoir should
never exceed the MAX reference line.
IMPORTANT Brake fluid is hygro-
scopic (meaning it absorbs humidity).
This is why the fluid should be
changed more frequently than shown
in the Service Schedule if the car is
mainly driven in areas with a high
percentage of humidity in the air.
Make sure that the highly
corrosive brake fluid does
not drip onto the paint-
work. If it does, wash it off imme-
diately with water.
The symbol π on the
container indicates syn-
thetic brake fluid distin-
guishing it from mineral fluid. Us-
ing mineral type fluid would dam-
age the special rubber braking
system gaskets beyond repair.

AIR CLEANER

The air cleaner is connected to the
air temperature and intake sensors
which send the electrical signals re-
quired for the correct operation of the
injection and ignition system to the
control unit.
Consequently, the cleaner must al-
ways be in perfect conditions to en-
sure correct operation of the engine
and in order to contain consumption
and exhaust emissions.
The air cleaner replace-
ment procedure is pro-
vided for indicative pur-
poses only. Have the operation
carried out at a Lancia Dealership.
Car safety can be compromised if
the cleaner replacement procedure
herein described is not carried out
correctly.
Replace the air cleaner
more frequently than shown
in the Service Schedule if
the car is used on dusty roads.
The cleaner can be dam-
aged if it is cleaned and
consequently the engine
can be damaged.
