Out of fuel.
Air intake clogged.
Circuit breaker tripped in the controller.
Inoperative seawater pump impeller.
Clogged seawater strainer.
Fuel line restricted.
Dirty fuel filter.
No/low oil pressure.
High temperature.
Inoperative high exhaust temperature
(HET), low oil pressure (LOP), and/or high
water temperature (HWT) shutdown
switch(es).
Loss of AC output.
Air intake clogged.
Stale or bad fuel.
Clogged fuel filter.
Vent in fuel tank cap obstructed.
Water, dirt, or air in the fuel system.
Dirty or faulty injectors.
Faulty governor link.
Inoperative fuel feed pump.
Incorrect valve clearance.
Inoperative valve spring.
Incorrect compression.
Improper fuel type.
Improper fuel injection timing.
Improper cylinder top clearance.
Inoperative piston or piston ring.
Inoperative crankshaft bearing or piston
pin bearing.
Improper valve clearance piston pin
bearing.
Air in injectors.
Air intake clogged.
Bad or stale fuel.
Engine not operating at rated RPM.

Corrective Action
Replenish fuel supply.
Service the air intake screen.
Reset the circuit breaker.
Replace the impeller.
Clean the strainer.
Check the fuel lines and the fuel tank.
Clean the fuel filter.
Check the oil pressure and pump.
Check the engine cooling system.
Check the HET, LOP, and HWT shutdown
switch(es).
