Service Provider Name Display

The MC9596-K displays the provider name in the Phone dialer by default. A registry key can be set to change what
displays on the Phone dialer.
Using a registry editor, navigate to the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\RIL]
Create the following key:
"UseServiceProviderName"=dword: 0
where:
dword:0 = Display provider name (default)
dword:1 = Display service provider name
dword:2 = Display both provider and service provider name
After setting the registry key, warm boot the MC9596-K.

WWAN Band Selection

By default MC9500-K connects automatic to a 2G or 3G network if found upon registering. A registry setting can be
used to configure the MC9500-K to connect only to a 2G or 3G network.
Using a registry editor, navigate to the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\RIL]
Create the following key:
"Selection2G3G"=dword: 1
where:
dword:1 = automatic (default)
dword:2 = GSM only (2G)
dword:3 = HSPDPA only (3G)
After setting the registry key, warm boot the MC9596-K.
