Enabling WPS-Compliant Devices

Mode: Station mode
Tab: WPS Setting
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) provides an easy way to make wireless connections between
WPS-enabled devices, such as between your adapter and a WPS-compliant router. With
WPS, you do not need to select an encryption mode and type a long encryption passphrase
to connect to the wireless network every time. You need only press a button on the wireless
device or enter a PIN, and WPS will establish the connection automatically.
There are two types of WPS:
Push-Button Configuration (PBC)
PIN code
To use PBC, you push a specific button on the wireless device to initiate WPS mode. To use
a PIN code, you must know the PIN code specified in the wireless device.
Using the WPS Setting tab, you can connect your Adapter to a WPS-compliant device using
PBC or a PIN code.
To use the PBC connection method:
1. Press the WPS button on the device to which you want to connect.
2. Click the Rescan button WPS Setting tab to scan the wireless signal of the device to
which you want to connect.
3. Under WPS AP, click the device to which you want to connect.
4. Click PBC in the WPS Setting tab. The Adapter negotiates and connects to the wireless
device automatically. When the connection is established, the Status field in the Status
tab shows Connected and other information such as IP address (see "Viewing Wireless
Network Status" on page 34).
To use the PIN code connection method:
1. Note the value in the PIN Code field on the WPS Setting tab, and then specify this value
in the configuration program for the device to which you want to connect. If necessary, click
the Renew button on the WPS Setting tab to release and renew the Adapter's PIN code
and then specify that value with the device to which you want to connect.
2. Click the Rescan button WPS Setting tab to scan the wireless signal of the device to
which you want to connect.
3. Under WPS AP, click the device to which you want to connect.
4. Click PIN. The Adapter negotiates and connects to the wireless device automatically.
When the connection is established, the Status field in the Status tab shows Connected
