Troubleshooting Procedures
If the device is not there, use Add and Remove Programs to uninstall the driver and then
reinstall it again.
The Adapter cannot communicate with the wireless network.
Confirm that your computer is powered on.
Be sure the access device (router, access point, and so on) is within range of the Adapter.
Be sure the Adapter is configured with the same Wireless Network Name (SSID) and
wireless security settings as the wireless network. See "Configuring SSID, Wireless Mode,
and Channel" on page 43.
You are working in an Ad-Hoc network and a different radio channel is being used. Select
the appropriate channel on the Basic Setting tab. See "Configuring SSID, Wireless Mode,
and Channel" on page 43. Mac users can also increase the transmit power level in their
profile (see page 51).
The wrong mode has been selected (Infrastructure or Ad-Hoc). Create or select a profile
with the correct mode. See "Managing Profiles" on page 37 (Windows) or "Working with
Profiles" on page 51 (Mac).
Be sure no equipment that can cause radio-frequency interference is located nearby.
Equipment such as mobile phones and microwave ovens can degrade wireless connection
quality.
WPS registration cannot be established.
Access control via a MAC address may be activated.
Connection quality is poor or suffering from interference.
Increase the distance between your Adapter and the device causing the interference.
Be sure the computer where the Adapter is installed and the device causing the interference
are connected to different electrical outlets.
Move your computer away from devices such as microwave ovens and devices with wireless
video-audio transmission, such as room monitors, and large metal objects.
A wireless network in the neighborhood might be using the same channel. Change the radio
channel for all wireless devices within the network, if possible.
You cannot establish a connection to the access point.
Be sure the Adapter is configured with the same Wireless Network Name (SSID) and
wireless security settings as the access point. See "Configuring SSID, Wireless Mode, and
Channel" on page 43.
Check whether your access to the access point is blocked by a MAC filter.
